Every morning our dedicated volunteers arrive at the huge kitchen in the Rashbi complex in Meron to prepare and package warm meals for these families. In addition to the steady families, we also provide meals during emergency situations such as Shiva or for weak mothers after birth.
In the dignified tradition of Hachnasas Orchim Rashbi, we discreetly drop off the meals, knock on the door — and that’s it. Everything is done quietly. The families don’t even need to contact us directly— they’ve been vetted by the Hachnasas Orchim Rashbi Tzedakah Fund and the Social Services Department. No embarrassing thank-yous to their kind benefactors. No fundraising interviews or videos. They eat and are satisfied… and you will be too— knowing that you’re feeding 100 families, giving hundreds of children the ability to focus, learn and thrive, and giving their parents the strength to face a new day and then another…
One hundred of the most desperate families in this economically depressed region would literally go to bed hungry without this food. Poverty, illness, and other challenges have left them unable to purchase and prepare even one cooked meal each day. And the number of requests is rising. With your help we will meet the need!
